Aesop is a Melbourne, Australia-based luxury n skin care bran. It was founded in 1987 by hairdresser Dennis Paphitis. The brand is known for its recognizable aesthetic and produces skincare, haircare, and fragrance products.
In December 2012, Aesop sold a 65% stake in its business to Natura for
US$71.6 million. Natura took total ownership in December 2016.
L'Oréal acquired Aesop from Natura & Co
Aesop has nearly 400 stores in the Americas, Europe, Australia, New
Zealand and Asia, including two stores in Shanghai that opened in the
past year, according to L’Oréal. Aesop’s revenue after costs of goods
sold in the fourth quarter of last year was 703 million Brazilian reais
($139 million), down 2.9 percent from the same period a year earlier.
