Sisley Paris

Sisley Paris is an independent French luxury cosmetic, skin care, hair care, and perfume company.
  • Founded by Hubert d'Ornano and his wife Isabelle in 1976.
  • Hubert d’Ornano passed away in 2015. Two of the couple's four children have been heavily involved in Sisley's recent success: son Philippe is president while daughter Christine runs its English subsidiary.
  • His grandfather Guillaume co-founded Lancôme in 1935 before selling his shares in the 1950s.
  • Hubert joined his father and brother Michel to launch Orlane, a luxury skincare brand they went on to sell in 1968.

Beginning in 1935, when Count Guillaume d’Ornano co-founded Lancôme, three generations of the family have successively created several discrete skin-care and cosmetic companies — Lancôme, Orlane and Sisley.
In 1954, Guillaume’s sons, Hubert and Michel, founded Orlane (it and Lancôme have since been sold); Michel went on to play a key political role in French politics from the 1960s through the ’90s, while in 1976, Hubert started Sisley in a tiny office with two rooms.

On 6 July 1963, Hubert d'Ornano married Countess Isabelle Potocki (b. 1937) at Deauville, France. She was a daughter of Count Józef Alfred Potocki and Princess Krystyna Maria Radziwiłł (a daughter of Prince Janusz Radziwiłł).
Isabella's uncle was Prince Stanisław Albrecht Radziwiłł, who married Caroline Lee Bouvier (sister to First Lady of the United States Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis).

Sisley’s beauty products are distributed in more than 100 countries. It has opened several new maisons—a 2,675-sq.ft. space in the Meatpacking District in New York City (the company’s first maison-spa in the US), another in Shanghai’s historic district of ZhangYuan (its first in Asia Pacific), Warsaw, Poland and Paris (its second in the city).

Inside these elegant spaces customers can experience unique treatments like “Le Grand Soin For Hair.” Inspired by the ancient practice of Shiatsu massage, this treatment features an uninterrupted sequence of massages and drainages of the neck, back and scalp combined with hot hair wraps. The combination of the massage and application of Hair Rituel by Sisley products stimulates the hair fiber, according to the company.

In other services-related news, the Sisley Spa at Hôtel Byblos Saint-Tropez in the South of France was renovated and the company opened a spa at The Dominick, a hotel in New York City.
